Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and four live albums. There are also compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The group has won multiple Grammy Awards.

Before the formation of Toto the group, members worked as sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum in 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to the formation of Toto in the year 1976.

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked an abrupt departure from the progressive sound of their previous efforts and was criticized for its lack of hit singles. In 1985 the lead singer Fergie Frederiksen left the group, and the band held auditions to find a new frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in the year 1986.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by scouring through demos and tapes from the past to release a special edition called Toto XX. The album was well-received by fans, and Toto embarked on a tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

While touring for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar departed from the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set called Falling in Between, which included recordings from the tour and an interview with Toto.
